Hy-Hope Farm
Farm Market and Golf Course
There are so many people that make this farm run and each and everyone of them is intricate to our operation. From the person planting seeds and pulling weeds, to the staff in the store, we couldn’t do it without them.
Our Story
In 1972, Jack and Florence Lusted purchased the Spencer Farm, which today is now Hy Hope Farm.
In 1975, Dave and Carol Bibb started farming the land, growing vegetables as well as hog farming. After their two children were born, they thought they needed something else to occupy their time. On the 1980 Grey Cup weekend, Carol baked and sold their first pies on a small table at the end of their driveway. It was a major success!
Over the past 40, years Hy-Hope Farm has seen many changes from a folding table at the side of the road to a year round farm market. There’s something for every season, from fruits and vegetables in the summer, tobogganing in the winter and our year round freshly baked goods, jams and preserves. And, don’t forget the 18-hole executive golf course. Another one of Dave’s creative ideas turned into a fruitful endeavor.
The area where the golf course sits now was used for growing crops, but its original landscape made it difficult to farm. Dave decided to transform the area into what you see today. Hy Hope Golf started out as a six-hole course and has grown into an 18-hole executive course with just over 3,000 yards of playing area and a challenging layout.
From the beginning we have been a family friendly place for parents to bring their children to learn how to play golf in a relaxed atmosphere. We value the idea of a place where people can learn how to play golf with little stress and pressure.

Growing up farming with my parents, it seemed like the right thing to do. Baking came along later when I needed to stay home and raise our family. I’ve stepped back a bit in the last few years to let the younger generation step in.

I enjoy taking care of the golf course and meeting the golfers out on the greens. I put a lot of effort in the maintenance of the grounds and providing a great place for people to enjoy. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, golfing (of course) and spending time with my family in the yard with my model train

I was born and raised here and I love the farm and the people. I enjoy baking new goodies as well as our classics alongside my mom, dad and the rest of our family. When I have a little extra time I enjoy sewing and quilting, skills I learned from my grandma.
